Husband & wife proprietors, Ted & Greer Ellis, bring over 25 years of experience in the Hospitality and Design Industries. As former creators & co-owners of Oku on the Santa Barbara waterfront, they are excited to bring a new concept to the Funk Zone.

Ted began his journey in the industry in the San Francisco Bay Area making wine with his Father at a young age in Napa Valley. He is a certified Sommelier and his family continues to own and operate a beautiful vineyard & tasting room in Ashland, Oregon: Pebblestone Cellars. Ted has managed many top restaurants in San Francisco and Santa Barbara and stepped into the ownership role 5 years ago when he & Greer leased a building on Santa Barbara’s waterfront. 

Ted & Greer share a passion for hospitality, creativity, construction and design, which are deeply rooted in their love for the Santa Barbara community. They are known for entertaining friends that feel like family with great food, drinks and playlists! They can’t wait to share this energy with Santa Barbara at their new spot, We Want The Funk.
